In an interview with Sky Sports, Luiz acknowledged the transfer links but affirmed his commitment to Aston Villa, saying, “I am very happy to hear the stories, but I am here at Aston Villa. My focus is totally here. I don’t spend a lot of time looking at the stories. I see them, but I don’t focus on that, and I’m not looking at it every day. My head is here at Aston Villa.”

Liverpool, eyeing reinforcements in midfield, have been linked with Luiz and Fluminense’s Andre ahead of the January transfer window.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has closely monitored Luiz’s performances throughout the 2023/24 season, with manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gasper expressing admiration for the Villa star. Despite three unsuccessful bids during the 2022 summer window, Villa has no intention of selling Luiz in January, and the player is committed to helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Luiz, in stellar form during the first half of the 2023/24 season with five goals and two assists, credited manager Unai Emery for his role in his recent success, stating, “Unai, honestly, is an incredible manager. Since he arrived here, he has changed the history of the club. Aston Villa is a very big club in England, but things weren’t going so well. Unai has changed it. Now, people respect the club and the players more.”

Expressing his happiness with his current form, Luiz believes he is in the best moment of his career and attributes his development to Emery’s demands and guidance.
