After completing a medical exam with the Ligue 1 team on Wednesday, Alexis Sanchez signed his official contract to play for Marseille.

Sanchez had a busy week that included his departure from Inter on Monday after his contract was cancelled and Marseille’s announcement on Tuesday that an agreement in principle had been reached.

The former player for Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester United, who started just seven games in Serie A last season but still scored five goals, is in France to regain his best form.

The previous year, Sanchez scored seven goals for Inter while frequently coming off the bench as the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto.

Sanchez was referred to as “a world-class player with significant experience at the very highest level” in a statement released by Marseille on Wednesday.
