Election watchers note that Dino’s chances of winning the governorship may be impacted by Abejide, a legislator currently in office.
Dino is from Kogi West, which hasn’t produced a governor since Kogi State was founded.

Kogi state, which is known as the “confluence state,” will choose its next governor from among its approximately 1.8 million registered voters.

Nevertheless, according to INEC, there will be eighteen people running for governor today.

According to analysts, Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress, Muri Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party, and Dino Melaiye of the PDP would be fiercely competing in the race.
