Engr. Benson Abounu, the Deputy Governor of Benue State, rescued five accident victims in the state’s Gboko Local Government Area on Sunday.

On his way to the NKST Church, Ahobee, Ikyogen, Ikurav-Ya, Kwande local government area, Deputy Governor Benson Abounu rescued the accident victims near Tse Kucha, Gboko, while on his way to the thanksgiving/building dedication service organized by the Church in collaboration with the family of Mr Ugbo Terso Ephraim, driver to his wife, Hon. Justice Mary Abounu, a High Court judge in the benue state Judiciary.

Benson Abounu, the Deputy Governor, and his convoy were involved in the accident. A automobile transporting a man and his family from Gboko to Makurdi veered off the road, made a U-turn, and collided with a tree. Pst. Felix Gbaeren was accompanying his wife, two children, and a middle-aged man on their journey. Fortunately, none of them perished, but they were all severely hurt, and none of them were able to exit the vehicle.

 

 

Benson Abounu, the deputy governor, had to come down and assist in the rescue of the victims, who were then driven to Gboko General Hospital in his Toyota Hilux vehicle. Before continuing his journey, he went to the hospital to confirm that the 5 persons, two of whom were unconscious, were stabilized,” his media assistant, Ede Ogaba Ede, stated.
