Manchester City midfielder and captain, Kevin de Bruyne, has suggested that this might be his final season with the club.
The Belgium international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and discussions over a new deal were put on hold due to a thigh injury he suffered in September. Manager Pep Guardiola stated that the injury affected De Bruyne’s mindset when considering his future.

“At the start of the season, I knew talks would happen, but then I got the injury against Brentford, so I put that aside,” De Bruyne explained. “I expected to be out for just a few days, but it turned into eight or nine weeks. I just wanted to get back on the pitch first, and everything else will follow.”
“I’m not too focused on it, but there’s not much more I can say. I feel fine, I’m happy, and I just want to play football again. We’ll see what happens.”
“If talks don’t happen, this will be my last year. I just want to play good football.”
