The dynamic offensive midfielder’s contract with the London club expires this summer, and the two clubs reached an agreement after a failed late January transfer attempt.

Carvalho, who was born in Portugal, had represented England at youth levels until switching to Portugal at Under-21 level this year.

During Fulham’s promotion-winning season, he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 38 appearances.

The teenager followed Harvey Elliott’s journey to Anfield, having grown up with the Liverpool midfielder and currently playing alongside ex-Reds winger Harry Wilson and loanee Neco Williams.

Carvalho, despite being Portuguese, is an England youth international and will be eligible for Premier League registration as a homegrown player.

Carvalho is anticipated to be in the Reds’ first-team squad for pre-season, which includes two games in Asia — against Man United in Bangkok and Crystal Palace in London (Singapore).

There are currently no intentions to loan him out for the upcoming season.
