In order to ensure adequate security before, during, and after the Yuletide celebration, Delta State Police Commissioner CP Wale Abass has ordered a major deployment of police troops throughout the entire state.
This was said in a statement made on Saturday in Asaba, the state capital, by DSP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the state police.
According to Edafe, the head of police gave orders to all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to send out men to ensure everyone’s safety.

According to the CP, police activities would take place all across the state, with a particular emphasis on visible policing at celebration sites, including malls and other resort areas.
Similarly, in addition to focusing on crimes that are typical during the holiday season, the police will concentrate on special crime awareness and prevention operations.
CP Wale Abass concludes by urging the public to always be vigilant and aware of their surroundings in order to prevent becoming easy targets for thieves who might try to take advantage of this season, which is usually associated with celebrations and social gatherings, Edasfe said.
In order for the public to assist the police in the battle against crime over the holiday season and beyond, the PPRO stated that the CP “further advised the public to be law-abiding, and also nurture an active participation in community policing.”
In a statement, the commissioner of police said, “On behalf of the officers and men of the Command, he wishes a trouble-free celebration to all Deltans and state residents, reassuring them that the command was prepared for the festivities and that anyone with criminal intent will be removed from the state.”
