“The pilgrimage cost to Rome and Greece at N3,000,000 per pilgrim,” according to the commission in the letter.

The statement emphasized that pilgrims’ travel allowances are not included in the fee, but it does cover “return flight, hotel accommodation, three-course meal per day, and tours of holy sites in both Rome and Greece in Executive luxurious buses for six nights and seven days.”

In order to join the pilgrimage to Rome and Greece, the committee requested the states that had previously funded Israel and Jordan to work on making up the shortfall.

“States and individual pilgrims are required by the commission to make payments prior to the rendering of services on or before January 31, 2024,” the statement stated.
