Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo credits Enzo Maresca’s emphasis on preparation as a key factor behind their strong form this season.
Despite many believing Chelsea would need time to adapt after replacing former coach Mauricio Pochettino with Maresca, the Italian has achieved immediate results, leading the club into the title race just 18 months after finishing 12th in the Premier League.
Chelsea are now just two points behind league leaders Liverpool, and their 2-0 win over Brentford marked their 10th victory in 16 games this season, with goals from Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson securing the three points.

The club is also thriving in Europe, having already qualified for the knockout stages of the Conference League. Adarabioyo attributes much of the team’s success to Maresca’s relentless focus on pushing the players to improve.
“We focus every single day in training, and we hope the results follow,” Adarabioyo told the club’s official website. “The manager pushes us every single day to make sure we’re doing the right things and preparing for each game. We’ve got top players, and when everyone puts in a shift – like we did off the ball against Brentford – it’s great to see. Now our next focus is Shamrock Rovers.”
As Chelsea’s players continue to gel, with more consistent team selection, Adarabioyo also highlighted the importance of developing team chemistry.
“It’s something we’ve been working on,” he added. “It was a great cross from Noni Madueke, and it was fantastic to see Marc Cucurella finish it off from a more advanced position.”
While Chelsea has been rocked by Mykhailo Mudryk’s failed drugs test, his limited involvement in the Premier League this season means his absence may not be heavily felt, especially with the January transfer window on the horizon.
