Thomas Tuchel, a competitor of Chelsea, should be suspended, according to Leeds manager Jesse Marsch, following his red card against Tottenham.

Marsch seemed secure in the knowledge that Tuchel would not be on the sidelines at Elland Road this Sunday when he used his press conference on Friday to say he would be “disappointed” if he were.

However, Tuchel has now been given the go-ahead to lead his Chelsea squad, and his one-match suspension has been provisionally deferred until the Football Association gives him the complete written justification for their choice.

“”You mean he won’t be there?” Is it being suggested that he could sit on the bench?” Marsch stated before the FA decision.

“That seems wrong, doesn’t it? You are removed from the game if you receive a red card.

If they let him sit on the bench, I will be disappointed.

Marsch also said “Whether it’s football or soccer, there is a straightforward guideline to follow.

“You can’t play in the next game if you get a red card.”
