Chelsea is looking to intensify contract negotiations with midfielder Conor Gallagher ahead of the January transfer window, according to information from 90min.
Despite having two years left on his current deal, Gallagher, who expressed his desire to stay at Stamford Bridge, was made available for transfer during the summer as Chelsea aimed to generate funds after a busy spending period.
Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United are still interested in Gallagher, a key player in Chelsea’s Premier League games this season. He even took on the captain’s role in the absence of Reece James.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino, a staunch admirer of Gallagher, has given the green light to Chelsea’s efforts to secure a new contract for the academy graduate in the upcoming weeks.
Chelsea aims to finalize terms with the 23-year-old before the January transfer window reopens, anticipating renewed interest from potential suitors.
While Gallagher is aware of the external interest, he remains content under Pochettino, and the decision to appoint him temporary captain has strengthened the bond between the player and the manager.
In late October, Gallagher admitted uncertainty about his future during the summer but commended Pochettino for supporting him.
“Before meeting Pochettino, I was unsure [about my future] because there was so much happening, with players leaving and coming in,” the midfielder remarked. “I was excited to play under him, stay at Chelsea, and prove myself to the club and fans more this season.”
Pochettino, in response to Gallagher’s comments, showered praise on the midfielder.
“First of all, you have to consider how they feel, in this case, the player and the club, the intentions of either side,” he shared with club media. “It’s about feeling good together.
“He’s a player who is performing fantastically. He’s an amazing player, and we are delighted with how he is handling things.”
