Chelsea is looking at a shortlist of midfielders for a key position in January and again in the summer. Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice are both more likely to move in the summer than in January, but I believe they will go to either Liverpool or Real Madrid.
The Blues are the most recent team to be connected with an approach for Bellingham, whose worth at Borussia Dortmund is anticipated to skyrocket if he performs well for England at the World Cup. Chelsea is most likely to be able to afford the teenager’s projected asking price of over £100 million.
Given that Brighton won’t part ways with players if their asking price is not met—as evidenced by the £62 million deal agreed upon for Marc Cucurella during the summer—signing Caicedo from Brighton might also cost Boehly money.
