Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has offered an explanation for his team’s 1-0 loss to Lazio in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg match on Wednesday. Tuchel expressed disappointment in his team’s failure to capitalize on clear chances in the first half, attributing the defeat to missed opportunities.
Addressing the media post-match, Tuchel remarked, “In the first half, we had to take the lead. We had three clear chances. We have to capitalize on these opportunities. [The second half was] characterized by uncertainty again. It was a bit chaotic. We did everything to lose this match. It was within our control.”
He continued, “At a certain point, we stopped believing; I have no idea why. There were many individual mistakes. We are frustrated and angry about the defeat.”
