Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been forced to withdraw from the England squad ahead of the upcoming international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium due to injury.
Saka arrived for England duty earlier in the week already carrying an injury, which unfortunately hasn’t improved, ruling him out of participation in the forthcoming matches.
A statement released by England on Thursday evening confirmed Saka’s departure from the camp, stating, “Bukayo Saka has left the England camp and returned to his club for continued rehabilitation. The Arsenal forward reported to St. George’s Park with an injury and has been unable to participate in training. No further replacements are planned as a 25-man England squad continue their preparation for the forthcoming internationals with Brazil and Belgium.”

While Saka’s absence from the England setup may not significantly impact their immediate plans, it raises concerns over his fitness for Arsenal’s crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City later this month.
Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes, who also missed out on Brazil’s call-up due to injuries, are likewise facing uncertainties regarding their availability for the upcoming match against City.
Saka’s potential absence would be a significant blow for Arsenal, given his pivotal role in the team’s attack this season. The 22-year-old has been the club’s top scorer, netting 16 goals across all competitions, and has contributed 13 assists, tallying an impressive total of 29 goal involvements in 37 appearances.
