After spending around three days in the den of kidnappers who kidnapped him along the Benin-Ore Expressway last Wednesday, a man named Akeem Kareem has returned home.
According to Sunday Special, Sefiu, Kareem’s son, yelled out in protest at his father’s kidnapping along with the unspecified number of other people in the Ofosu section of the Benin-Ore Expressway.
The victims were taken by the gunmen on Wednesday afternoon, and Safiu told Sunday Special that they were “already demanding money”—N20 million.

Speaking earlier on Thursday, he revealed that after attending a party in Osogbo, Osun State, his dad and his pals were driving to Warri, Delta State.
According to him, the family was informed about the kidnapping when one of the travelers’ phones was used by the abductors to get in touch with them.
Then, Safiu took the matter to social media, pleading with the police and military to save his father and declaring, “I don’t want to lose my dad.”
Sefiu acknowledged his father’s release in a conversation with our correspondent on Sunday, but only after the N3 million ransom was paid.
Safiu told PUNCH Metro, “They have released him after the payment (of) N3m.”
He stated he didn’t have all the information when asked if the police were engaged in his dad’s rescue operation.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, verified to our correspondent that the abducted victims had been freed when he was phoned on Sunday to provide an update on the issue.
Odunlami stated, “I spoke with the DPO, and I was informed that they had all been released.”
The PPRO responded, “I was not told that,” when asked if a ransom had been paid.
According to PUNCH Metro, the six sisters who were abducted almost two weeks ago in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, were rescued on Saturday night.
