Temilade Openiyi was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on June 11, 1995. Born in the United Kingdom to a Nigerian mother and a Nigerian father. Tems and her family immigrated to the United Kingdom soon after she was born. Unfortunately, her parents divorced when she was five years old.
Tems relocated to Nigeria with her mother, they reside in Illupeju before moving to Lekki then Ajah in Lagos State. She schooled at Bowen college in Nigeria before moving to South Africa for her Tertiary education. She was noticed by her music teacher at school who taught her how to play the piano. She practiced singing with her brother’s guitar alongside.
Temilade is an exceptional singer, songwriter and record producer who started doing music professionally in 2015. Her music is often regarded as the music of the soul as it is always so soothing. Her unique vocals is also one of the many things she is loved by. Her voice has been described as deep, velvety and androgynous.
