Barcelona was penalized £705,000 for violating the Financial Fair Play rules of La Liga.

They reduced first-team players’ salaries in order to save costs and balance the books, and they raised money by selling off other club assets like domestic TV rights and their in-house media studio.

La Liga required Barca to adhere to a salary cap, but it has since come to light that the Catalan team has been found guilty of breaking the law.
The three punishments are connected to the signings of Dani Alves and Andreas Christensen as well as the extension of Ronaldo Araujo’s contract.
The alleged violations, according to ARA through Barcelona Universal, date back to the 2021/22 fiscal year, and Barca has already filed an appeal with the RFEF UEFA license second instance committee.
Both Alves and Christensen arrived as free agents, with the former agreeing to a significant pay cut in order to sign on for a second stint at the Nou Camp.
Araujo, on the other hand, signed a contract extension in April that includes a €1 billion release clause, tying him to the team for another four years.
In an effort to once again compete with Real Madrid, Barcelona spent over €153 million in the summer on players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde.
They were able to make those agreements happen because to financial levers, but it has since been discovered that Barcelona won’t be able to repeat those actions in the future.
In a statement to Mundo Deportivo, La Liga president Javier Tebas said: “The levers have worked for them this season, but not for the next.
