Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has expressed his frustration with journalists from four countries who failed to vote for Vinicius Junior in the 2024 Ballon d’Or voting.
Rodri was awarded this year’s prestigious prize, ahead of Vinicius, at the October ceremony in Paris, sparking widespread debate and controversy in the football world.
Perez has now called out the journalists from Namibia, Uganda, Albania, and Finland, who did not give Vinicius a single vote.

“If the journalists from Namibia, Uganda, Albania, and Finland hadn’t voted, Vinicius would have won the Ballon d’Or,” Perez said. “These countries didn’t give Vinicius a single vote. Not one! The Finnish journalist, at least, has resigned and said he won’t be part of the jury again. I appreciate that.”
