Atiku Abubakar, a 2023 presidential contender and a former vice president of Nigeria, has expressed regret for Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar’s unfortunate death at the hands of her kidnappers in Abuja.
In a statement posted on his official account on Sunday, Atiku emphasized the necessity of a revised security framework to stop kidnappers and bandits from operating freely throughout the nation.
He asked security services to step up their attempts to free the captives who are still alive.

He expressed his sadness over the stories of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar’s horrific death. She and her siblings were kidnapped and had been held captive by their captors for about two weeks.
This serves as yet another reminder that bandits and kidnappers are free to operate in our nation.
In order to prevent criminal elements from operating freely and to ensure the safety of people and property, the security architecture must be modified to the necessary extent.
“The security agencies should step up action to rescue the rest who are still in the custody of the kidnappers,” he said.
