Seun, an eyewitness who claimed to have been with them prior to the catastrophe, related the story and offered the parents of the deceased his regrets.

“We were swimming together on the beach,” he continued. Since we were together when they suddenly drowned, I’ll be honest and say I have no idea how it happened. Now that they are brothers, I wonder how their parents will feel, and I also feel awful that we were unable to assist.

Femi, another eyewitness, stated that all attempts to save the siblings by the beach’s friends and divers were unsuccessful.

Femi continued, “Their friends’ and the local divers’ attempts to save them from Ibeshe Beach were unsuccessful. Their bodies have not been discovered despite the divers’ search of the beach.

“We swam for a very long time in vain. I have no doubt that their bodies will be located shortly. Before things got out of hand, we promptly told the police about it. I hope their bodies turn up. I hope everything goes smoothly.

When contacted, Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, confirmed the event and said that divers had been recruited to locate the bodies while an investigation was being conducted.

“Divers have been hired to locate the bodies, and the family of the deceased has already been informed. The investigation is ongoing,” stated Hundeyin.
