Due to a labor union-organized demonstration that took place on Thursday morning, travelers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja are currently stuck and unable to continue their rides.
Members of both the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress participated in the protests that shut down the airport’s entrance.
Following Joe Ajaero, the National President of the NLC, allegedly being attacked in Imo State, there is now a protest.

Travelers were left stranded as a result of numerous vehicles carrying passengers to the airport becoming stuck outside of it.
Siraj Abubakar, a passenger, said our correspondent that at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, the demonstrators barred cars from entering the airport.
About 8.30 am, they prevented us from going through the airport gates. “I wonder how that affects us here in Abuja? They said they are protesting against the mistreatment of the NLC chairman in Imo State,” remarked Abubakar.
NAIA representatives have not yet returned calls or texts regarding the development.
According to The PUNCH, all aviation unions in the nation jointly announced that all flights to Owerri, Imo State, will be suspended from all Nigerian airports.
Additionally, the unions designated Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma persona non grata at all airports.
