When asked about the top player, Jorginho immediately mentioned two names that stood out for him. He praised Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, a two-time PFA Player of the Year, as “ridiculous,” highlighting his intelligence on the pitch. However, Jorginho ultimately placed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah at the pinnacle. He commended Salah’s strength, power, speed, and mental toughness, emphasizing his exceptional goal-scoring ability.

In Jorginho’s words to The Athletic, “Kevin De Bruyne is ridiculous. But I think Mohamed Salah, he was another level. I think, yeah, I put Salah first. He was so strong, so powerful, so fast. His mentality… and however he would shoot, it would go in.”

Jorginho also acknowledged De Bruyne’s intelligence on the field, describing him as being on “another level” and challenging to mark due to his positional awareness.

De Bruyne, who finished third in the Ballon d’Or rankings for his role in Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign, has faced injury setbacks this season, playing just 20 minutes. Despite his absence, Pep Guardiola expects him to return to action in the new year, providing a boost to Manchester City. Guardiola stated, “If he said January, it will be January… He said end of December or happy new year, so it will be a happy new year for everyone.”
