According to reports, Mykhaylo Mudryk will soon be moving to Arsenal.

Even if Mykhaylo Mudryk’s record-breaking transfer to Arsenal is finalized before kickoff, he won’t be able to make his debut against Tottenham in Sunday’s north London derby.

This month, Arsenal and Chelsea, two rivals in the Premier League, have shown a lot of interest in the winger. Both clubs, meanwhile, were hesitant to invest his ยฃ100 million assessment.

Shakhtar believes that Jack Grealish’s transfer from Aston Villa to Manchester City 18 months ago created a precedent for similar players, which is why they are asking for such an outrageous sum of money. When FIFA decided that foreign athletes may leave Ukraine for free after the Russian invasion, they also lost out on payments for important players.

According to numerous rumours, Arsenal and Shakhtar are about to work out a deal to trade places for Mudryk. Arsenal is set to pay substantial add-ons and bonuses under a structured arrangement.

However, even if Arsenal finalized the deal before to Sunday’s 4:30 PM kickoff, the 21-year-old would not be eligible to play against Spurs. According to Premier League regulations, new hires must be formally registered before noon on the last working day before the following match.

“Subject to the provisions of Rule V.1, the deadline for receipt by the Board of all duly completed documents required by these Rules to effect the registration of a Player shall be 12 noon on the last Working Day preceding the date of the first League Match in which the Club making the application intends him to play,” the organization’s rules state.

With the exception that they may both be submitted later (but not before the Player is qualified to represent a Club in a League Match), the international transfer certificate and proof of ability to begin employment in the United Kingdom, where applicable.

Mudryk would miss the North London derby as a result, but he might play Manchester United a week later. That is assuming he gets signed by Friday, January 22, at noon.

This month, Mudryk has been frantically trying to join Arsenal. The attacker has dropped a few signals about wanting to make the move on social media.

Chelsea has also indicated a desire to acquire Mudryk. The Blues met with Shakhtar in London last week, but it’s possible that they have now moved on to other targets as a result of Joao Felix’s arrival.

No matter what happens with Chelsea, Mudryk is focused on Arsenal. The likelihood of a deal occurring before the end of the transfer season is rising, as Arsenal gets closer to reaching an agreement with Shakhtar.
