Arsenal is making progress during the January transfer window because they want to strengthen their team for the task at hand.

Arsenal is allegedly interested in recruiting Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga on a loan until the end of the current campaign after completing two January transactions.

According to Simon Collings of The Evening Standard, Arsenal wants to bring Camavinga, a France international, to the Emirates Stadium for the remainder of the campaign.

Although the 20-year-old has started just five La Liga games for Carlo Ancelotti’s team this season, his report states that it is currently unknown whether Real would approve such a move. He did, however, play the whole 90 minutes of Thursday’s 3-2 Copa del Rey victory over Villarreal.

Ancelotti provided the following explanation for Camavinga’s recent lack of playing time for Real on the team’s website: “In the Spanish Super Cup on January 11, Valencia was the opponent of the [halftime] substitute. He performed admirably, but I substituted him since Camavinga’s booking made it riskier to play with 10 players.

“He performed admirably against Barcelona [in the following game], but I substituted him in order to add more men up front.

I have complete faith in him. Although I’ve perhaps not always been fair to him by taking him off at the end of the first half, I have full faith in him and know that he’ll help the team tomorrow [against the opposition]
