David Raya is expected to be rested for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers after sustaining a knock during the match against Manchester City.
The Spanish goalkeeper has been in outstanding form this season, with impressive performances in the north London derby against Tottenham and a remarkable double save in the UEFA Champions League draw with Atalanta. Raya also played a crucial role in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
However, during the second half of the match against City, Raya required treatment for an injury. Though he completed the game, he is now set to miss Arsenal’s upcoming clash with Bolton.

According to the Daily Mail, Raya has a knee issue. While it’s not considered serious, Arsenal won’t take any risks and will rest him for Wednesday’s game at the Emirates Stadium.
With backup goalkeeper Neto cup-tied, having played for Bournemouth earlier in the competition, and 18-year-old Tommy Setford unavailable due to fitness concerns, manager Mikel Arteta is likely to hand a debut to 16-year-old Jack Porter. Porter has made only six appearances for Arsenal’s Under-18s and one for the Under-21s. He traveled with the squad to Manchester but wasn’t included in the matchday lineup.
Raya is expected to return for Arsenal’s Premier League match against Leicester City on Saturday.
