Portuguese outlet Leonino, via The Standard, reports that Arsenal have agreed to pay Sporting £86 million for Gyokeres, who has been described as ‘lethal’ by TEAMtalk. Despite previous reluctance to meet his release clause, Arsenal are now prepared to meet Sporting’s asking price, with a deal potentially being concluded this week.

Although a formal bid has not yet been submitted, a verbal agreement is in place.

Since joining Sporting from Coventry City last summer, Gyokeres has become one of the continent’s most prolific strikers. In his debut season, he scored 43 goals and provided 15 assists, totaling 58 goal involvements. If Arsenal secures his signature, they will be adding a versatile striker capable of also playing a playmaker role.
