RB Leipzig is considering the sale of Benjamin Sesko this summer, with sources indicating to 90min that a deal may not require triggering his €50m (£42m) release clause.
The 20-year-old striker has garnered attention as one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents following an impressive debut season with Leipzig, tallying 12 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions.
Sesko joined Leipzig’s senior squad last summer after agreeing to transfer from fellow Red Bull club Salzburg a year earlier. Despite receiving immediate offers to leave upon his arrival in Germany, Sesko opted to remain within the Red Bull system.

However, sources suggest that after one season in the Bundesliga, Sesko is now open to exploring new opportunities, and Leipzig is prepared to facilitate his departure.
While Sesko’s contract includes a €50m (£42m) release clause, Leipzig is flexible regarding the structure of any potential deal, as long as it meets the approximate valuation.
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are reportedly among Sesko’s suitors, with the Premier League seen as his most likely destination. PSG is also interested in the Slovenian striker.
Arsenal’s striker shortlist includes Sesko, as well as Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson. Sesko’s appeal to Arsenal lies in his relatively lower fee compared to other targets, such as Gyokeres, whose release clause is set at €100m (£86m).
Chelsea sees Sesko as a cost-effective alternative to Victor Osimhen, whose Napoli contract features a release clause of at least €120m (£103m).
Manchester United remains in the market for a striker, with a preference for younger options like Sesko over veterans. However, they may also consider Ivan Toney, whose contract with Brentford expires in 2025.
