Premier League referee Anthony Taylor has faced consequences and has been relegated to the Championship following his controversial penalty call during the match against Wolves.

Wolves’ manager, Gary O’Neil, harshly criticized the referee’s decision, calling it “scandalous,” despite his team’s ability to secure a point.
As per the Star’s report, the Referee Association, PGMOL, has not issued an apology to Wolves, but they have acted swiftly by demoting Anthony Taylor to the Championship. This weekend, he is slated to officiate the match between Preston and Coventry City, marking his return to the second tier for the first time since 2019.
