However, Inter’s primary target for their attacking lineup remains Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson. Despite being under contract until 2027 and drawing interest from Tottenham, securing Gudmundsson’s services would likely demand a substantial transfer fee. In the event of difficulties in securing Gudmundsson, Inter may then turn their attention to Martial.

An appealing aspect of pursuing Martial is his impending free agent status, which means Inter could engage directly with the player’s representatives without a transfer fee involved.

A move to Serie A could offer Martial a fresh opportunity to revitalize his career after enduring several challenging seasons in the Premier League. This season, the 28-year-old has made 19 appearances across all competitions, finding the net only twice. In contrast, Gudmundsson has scored 12 goals in 29 Serie A outings.

Since joining Manchester United from Monaco in 2015, Martial has scored 90 goals in 317 appearances. However, his productivity has waned in recent seasons, notably after his prolific 2019/20 campaign, during which he scored 23 goals in 48 games. Additionally, he struggled during a loan spell at Sevilla in the latter half of the 2021/22 season.
