There had been hopes that Fati would make it back for Sunday’s game against Rayo Vallecano, which Barcelona lost 1-0, but club doctors decided they were not 100% satisfied and have been told not to clear Fati until they are supremely confident that he will not hit another relapse.
Sunday could finally be that moment, with Fati now in line for his fourth comeback of the season.
Samuel Umtiti has also been given the green light from the doctors and could make his return from a toe injury which has cost him nearly five months of the season.
However, there will likely be no sign of either Sergi Roberto or Gerard Pique, who have been away from training over the past few days while they battle injuries.
