Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has achieved a new milestone by setting the record for the most minutes played by a Nigerian in the Premier League.

Iwobi broke the previous record held by former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi after completing 90 minutes in Fulham’s 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

With this achievement, Iwobi has accumulated 16,289 minutes of play in the English top-flight, surpassing Mikel’s 16,218 minutes.
