Manchester United’s hopes of a last-minute victory were dashed as Mason Mount scored his inaugural goal for the club in second-half stoppage time, only for Kristoffer Ajer to net a 99th-minute equalizer, resulting in a dramatic finale on Saturday night.
Despite dominating the first half and outshooting the Red Devils 31 shots to ten, Brentford couldn’t find the breakthrough until two goals arrived in the final moments of the game.
The result sees Manchester United lose more ground in the race for a top-four finish, while Brentford remains without a win since February and teeters just five points above the Premier League relegation zone.

The game started evenly, but Brentford soon began creating better chances. Ivan Toney hit the woodwork after a well-timed pass from Yoane Wissa, while Mathias Jorgensen’s header struck the top of the bar from a corner.
