Confederation of African Football (CAF) has declared that Morocco would continue to serve as the host of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations following the successful staging of the 2022 edition (WAFCON).
The just finished edition was held in the North African nation in July, and Bayana Bayana of South Africa won after defeating the home women’s team, also known as the Atlas Lioness, 2-1 in the championship game.
According to Heritage Times, Morocco received the hosting rights automatically when other African nations failed to make a bid, with the North Africans being the only ones to do so.

The continental authority for football soccer has still to decide the qualifying rules before the biannual championship in two years.
It may be played at the regional level, as was the case for the 2022 edition, according to informal indications.
Four African athletes have already qualified for the 2023 Women’s World Cup thanks to this year’s competition.
They are Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, and Morocco.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons were the most successful team in the competition with nine records titles, despite falling in the 2022 WAFCON semi-final.
