Ondo State’s former attorney general and commissioner for justice, Charles Titiloye, was jeered by employees at the state ministry of justice on Wednesday, setting off a small-scale drama.
This came after Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa dissolved the State Executive Council earlier in the day.
In a video obtained by PUNCH Online, the employees surrounded the hallway that led to the commissioner’s office while making fun of him and singing offensive songs.

The chant, “Titiloye has locked himself up, he can’t step out,” was also audible.
After the announcement, they continued to protest until he left the property.
Nevertheless, it required the arrival of a police squad to intervene in order to defuse the situation.
The workers, who appeared unperturbed by the security personnel’s presence, jeered the commissioner when he eventually left his office.
After that, Titiloye, who was accompanied by police officers, got into his car and quickly left the property.
All Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants were relieved of their duties by the governor, who also announced the dissolution in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan. The governor further stated that the changes would take effect immediately.
“All cabinet members shall immediately turn over to the Permanent Secretaries or the senior administrative officers in their respective offices,” the statement stated.
“All impacted officials have been instructed to turn over any government property they may have.
“The governor expresses gratitude to the impacted officials for their services and contributions to the state’s development.”
With Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s passing on December 27, 2023, Aiyedatiwa took the oath of office as the state’s legitimate governor.
In a German hospital, Akeredolu, 67, passed away while receiving treatment for prostate cancer.
Prior to his passing, Akeredolu had given Aiyedatiwa authority by sending a letter to the state House of Assembly on December 13, 2023, directing him to take a medical leave of absence to Germany.
The event transpired subsequent to President Tinubu’s intervention in the crisis that arose from Akeredolu’s unwillingness to transfer power to his deputy upon his return to the nation from Germany in September 2023.
