Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has affirmed that two members of his squad are currently nursing injuries ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final showdown against Angola on Friday evening.

Peseiro disclosed on Thursday that the affected players are Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ahmed Musa, emphasizing that both are currently experiencing discomfort. Despite the injuries, Peseiro did not completely rule out their participation in the crucial match.

In a conversation with Channels Television’s English correspondent, Austin Okon Akpan, the 63-year-old coach stated, “There is some injury at this point. Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ahmed Musa are dealing with some pain, but I believe they will be prepared for the match tomorrow [Friday].”

Osayi-Samuel has actively contributed to the Super Eagles’ AFCON campaign, while Musa has been listed as a non-playing substitute in the last four consecutive matches.
