The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has bestowed upon Victor Osimhen the title of the Lion of Africa. The football governing body utilized the popular slogan ‘no gree for anybody’ to highlight how the 25-year-old played a pivotal role in securing Nigeria’s first goal during their 2-0 victory over Cameroon on Saturday night.

In the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 clash, Nigeria emerged triumphant with a 2-0 win against Cameroon, courtesy of Ademola Lookman’s two goals in each half. Victor Osimhen showcased his prowess by breaking free and providing the assist to Lookman, whose modest finish found its way past the goal line, securing the three-time African champions their opening goal.

Sharing a video capturing Napoli star Osimhen’s celebration after Nigeria’s inaugural goal, CAF posted on its official platform, “Lion of Africa no gree for anybody! Ginger o porrr! No retreat, no surrender.”
