Angola coach Pedro Gonçalves has identified Nigeria and Ivory Coast as the top two favorites to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Gonçalves made this declaration ahead of Angola’s AFCON quarter-final clash with Nigeria at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan on Friday.
In a statement to Al-Hayat channel, relayed via Filgoal, Gonçalves acknowledged the challenging task his team faces against Nigeria in the African Nations quarter-finals, praising coach Peseiro for his commendable results with the team.

Initially considering Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, and Algeria as strong contenders, Gonçalves noted their exits from the tournament. He now believes that Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria stand out with the greatest chances of clinching the title.
