The Spanish La Liga club, Cádiz, has conveyed a message wishing a swift recovery to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) round of 16 clash with Angola on Friday.
Cádiz also praised Nwabali for his outstanding performances at the AFCON, labeling the Chippa United star as the ‘GOAT’ (Greatest of All Time). It is worth noting that Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro chose Nwabali as his first-choice goalkeeper at the beginning of the tournament.
Unfortunately, Nwabali sustained an injury during Nigeria’s AFCON round of 16 victory against Cameroon. The 27-year-old goalkeeper was substituted by Uzoho in the 80th minute due to a suspected knee injury following a collision with Cameroonian attacker Georges-Kévin N’Koudou.
