The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has announced its intention to appeal the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision to award Nigeria a 3-0 victory in their controversial 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
According to the Libyan news outlet alwasat.ly, the LFF believes the ruling is unjust. To support their appeal, the federation has engaged Tunisian lawyer Ali Abbas.
The Match Day 4 fixture was set to take place in Benina on October 15 but was canceled after the Nigerian delegation’s flight was diverted. As a result, players and officials from the Super Eagles were held at an abandoned airport for over 17 hours.

In addition to the match decision, the LFF has been fined $50,000, which must be paid within 60 days of notification of the ruling.
