Following the match, Okocha, who was present at the stadium, shared moments with the players in the tunnel. The players, visibly excited, paid their respects to the legendary figure.

Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey bowed down in greeting, while Alex Iwobi (Okocha’s nephew), Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, and Francis Uzoho exchanged hugs with the former Super Eagles captain.

As one of the ambassadors chosen by CAF for the tournament, Okocha is expected to return for Nigeria’s second match. The Super Eagles will face hosts Ivory Coast in their next game, aiming to secure their first win of the competition.
