Napoli striker Victor Osimhen asserts that he faces no pressure to leave a significant impact at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite scoring one goal in two appearances for Nigeria in the competition, the 25-year-old has missed several clear-cut chances. While some attribute this to the pressure of being Africa’s current best player, Osimhen refutes such claims, emphasizing his focus on aiding the Super Eagles in achieving success in Cote d’Ivoire.

“I am not under pressure,” Osimhen conveyed to reporters in Abidjan. “I have won the title (African Player of the Year), but it’s now in the past. What is most important for me now is to do well with the team, make sure the team does well, and win the AFCON. I don’t care about my individual performance. I could be on the bench, and the other players get the job done.”
