Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has become a sought-after player due to his outstanding performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chippa United’s first-choice stopper in the Premier Soccer League, Nwabali, is reportedly attracting interest, particularly from Kaizer Chiefs. Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Peseiro, chose the 27-year-old as the team’s primary goalkeeper over Francis Uzoho for the AFCON tournament.
Nwabali has showcased his skills in six matches, conceding only two goals against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa, contributing significantly to the Super Eagles’ progress in the continental competition. The tournament marks Nigeria’s chance to secure victory since their last triumph in 2013.

Amidst his impressive performances, Nwabali’s agent, Mohammed Lawal, has hinted at potential opportunities abroad. “There is interest in France and Saudi Arabia. There is no surprise because of his performance during the Afcon tournament in Ivory Coast,” Lawal stated. Regarding the reported links with Kaizer Chiefs, Lawal suggested checking with the club chairman for confirmation on local interest.
