On Tuesday, many traffic accidents in Osogbo, Osun State, claimed the lives of seven individuals, including three schoolchildren.
Elizabeth Arowosafe, Head of Operations at Osun Emergency Ambulance Service, confirmed to The PUNCH that the organization transported both the deceased and injured people to Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, after receiving a distress call from the accident scene.
In addition, Arowosafe stated that four of the accident victims had already passed away before they were taken from the scene, and that the rescue effort also included police officials and Federal Road Safety Corps officers.

She stated, “A tricycle and an eighteen-passenger bus were involved in the accident. The bus had Lameco Junction as its destination.
The car may have lost control, flipped over, and landed in the lane across the WOCDIFF Center. It struck a tricycle that was traveling in the direction of the dual carriageway’s stadium end. Five schoolchildren, the driver, and a male adult were all riding in the trike.
Agnes Ogungbemi, the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesman for the Osun Sector, provided more information, stating that three vehicles were involved in the collision.
Seven people—four male adults, two male children, and one female child—died in the accident, according to Ogungbemi, who also stated that a “tyre burst, speed violation, and loss of control” were the most likely causes. One female child was also hurt.
Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has expressed her condolences to the relatives of the accident victims.
Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, quoted Adeleke in a statement that said, “I am distraught to hear about the terrible accident.” I would like to utilize this opportunity to express my condolences to the families of the departed because it is quite sad for me.
