Sir Shina Peters, a juju singer turned Bishop, reacted to allegations that he abandoned Damilare Peters, the son of late actress Funmi Martins, before her untimely death.

Sir Shina Peters revealed in a 9-minute video posted on social media that there are some difficulties from the past that he doesn’t want to discuss, but that he will now take full responsibility for Damilare.

He also revealed that he has reared billionaires as well as the late Funmi Martins’ other children, Mide and Tunde Martins.

For crying out loud, I am no longer a child, I am over 60… I’d want to thank all the mothers who stepped up to help in this situation… But it’s always important to hear both sides of a story before passing judgment….what happened is…I can’t count the number of kids I’ve even assisted who aren’t my own children… So what makes you think Damilare’s situation will be any different?

I want you to know that Damilare and I have been talking for three days now, and tomorrow we will sit down and discuss, and I vow to take over the boy’s responsibilities.

I am a responsible father who has raised billionaires….but please don’t turn this boy into a beggar because of his future because he has people who can take care of him…not it’s because I refused to take care of him, it’s because of past issues that I am not going to revisit for the sake of peace.

I’ll send him to school; all of my children are educated, so he’ll go to school….I raised his older brother, Tunde Martins, and his younger brother, Mide Martins, so why not him? So, for the time being,… I’ll take it up and skip the previous issues, but I won’t say anything about it because of the boy’s future….he’ll shine…”
