Nollywood actress and content producer, Funke Akindele Bello, took to Instagram to commemorate 14 years of playing the ‘Jenifa’ role.
Funke Akindele made her Nollywood debut in the comedy-drama film Jenifa, in which she portrayed a “local girl” from the village who travels to Lagos in pursuit of a “better life.”
The film was engaging and humorous, and it was a huge success, and she did an excellent job of capitalizing on its potential and used it to inspire her ongoing TV series Jenifa’s Diary.

Jenifa’s Diary has now become a household brand in most Nigerian households, featuring great musicians such as Lota Chukwu, Folarin Falana (Falz Da Bad Guy), Lolo, JJC Skillz, and others.
Taking to her Instagram page, Funke Akindele expressed appreciation to her fans for their support over the years.
She wrote: Been playing the #jenifa character for 14 years!!
