Actor Moses Armstrong was suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria on Saturday for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl. According to accounts, Armstrong was arrested a few days earlier for allegedly defiling the teenager. AGN Director of Communications Monalisa Chinda confirmed his suspension in a statement posted on Saturday. According to Chinda, AGN President Emeka Rollas indicated that the guild’s investigation into the rape claim necessitated the extended suspension.

The AGN noted that if immediate action is not taken in accordance with the Guild’s fundamental rules, the allegation against Moses Armstrong has the potential to tarnish the Guild’s excellent image and reputation. Armstrong is not allowed to work on any films or be a member of any guilds while he is on suspension. In addition, the National/State Chapter Task Forces have been asked to monitor all film locations and production sets across Nigeria, as violations of the suspension regulations may result in harsher disciplinary consequences under the AGN constitution.
