The protest took place on Wednesday September 11 outside the Ikorodu Magistrate Court as the coroner’s inquest into the mysterious death of Mohbad whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba resumed.

In a video, a group of protesters wearing black T-shirts gathered outside the court, responding to Yomi’s earlier invitation for the public to join in the fight for justice for the late musician

The family has been vocal in their quest for justice following Mohbad’s unexpected death on September 12, 2023. He was buried the following day, stirring widespread public outcry and demands for a thorough investigation.

His body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). However, the autopsy yielded no tangible findings, apart from the presence of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in his system. While the drug was detected, the concentration was not considered high enough to have caused his death.

Mohbad’s family rejected and demanded another autopsy after the first autopsy claimed the cause of death couldn’t be determined because his body had decomposed.
