Renowned Nigerian film producer Kunle Afolayan is ecstatic when Anikulapo takes home the 2023 AMAA Awards’ best overall film trophy.
The African Movie Academy Awards, or AMAA, ceremony was held on Sunday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, and was hosted by Nancy Isime, Rahama Sadau, and Richard Ato Turkson.
Anikulapo, which Kunle Afolayan produced and directed, was also awarded best achievement in production design. The filmmaker dedicated this honour to the late Pat Nebo.
The 49-year-old congratulated all the nominees and winners in an Instagram post on Monday, expressing his gratitude and his sense of pride.
