Chelsea has reportedly finalized an agreement to appoint Sonia Bompastor as their new manager, following the impending departure of Emma Hayes to the United States Women’s National Team this summer.

As the current manager of Lyon, Bompastor holds the distinction of being the first individual to secure victory in the Women’s Champions League as both a player and a manager, a feat achieved in 2021.

While Bompastor’s contract with Lyon is set to run until 2025, reports from The Telegraph indicate that an early release has been arranged, facilitating her earlier departure.
It’s anticipated that Bompastor will bring her assistant, Camille Abily, to Chelsea alongside her.
