Manchester United have approached former star Ruud van Nistelrooy to join their coaching staff. Van Nistelrooy has been out of a coaching role for over a year since leaving his managerial position at PSV Eindhoven. Known for his coaching experience and progression at PSV, he is now being considered to join Erik ten Hag’s coaching team, as reported by Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via the Sun.
However, Burnley also seeks Van Nistelrooy as a potential replacement for Vincent Kompany, who recently moved to Bayern Munich. Van Nistelrooy gained recognition during his tenure at PSV for fostering talents like Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke. His achievements include winning the Dutch Cup and securing a second-place finish in the Eredivisie behind Feyenoord last season.
The former striker has also served as assistant to Guus Hiddink during the 2014 World Cup. Van Nistelrooy enjoyed a successful playing career with Manchester United from 2001 to 2006, scoring 150 goals and winning titles such as the Premier League and FA Cup. His career also spanned stints with Real Madrid and Hamburg, earning 70 caps for the Netherlands.
